The next character for my Greek mythology series. Icarus the son of Daedalus and a female slave of king Minos. His father was a great Athenian inventor and a master craftsman. When he and his son were kept imprisoned by King Minos in a high tower, Daedalus studied birds carefully and over a long period of time he built artificial wings with wood and feathers, joined togheter with wax in order to escape. He warned Icarus not to fly too close to the sun in order to avoid that the wax would melt. Icarus ignored or forgot the warnings of his father and flew too close to the sun and fall into the sea. Some say Hercules was passing bye when Icarus fell into the sea and He gave Icarus a befitting burial.
